Greetings ASIS NCC Members -
The holidays are upon us once again, bringing ample opportunities to exercise increased vigilance in our client safety/security arena. In the US the workplace has been a primary target of threats and remains a principle target for domestic/workplace violence issues. Please remember to take particular care for yourselves and family while shopping at malls, attending theaters, musical venues, and sadly, even attending your house of worship.
As security professionals, our collective experience in the security industry allows us to be a positive force in our communities by adding trained eyes and ears in our pursuit of a safer, more secure environment. See something, say something, get involved in initiating a security team for your local house of worship.
Staying current and attending training seminars and webinars are necessary steps we can all take to assist not only our clients, but ourselves and our communities. As an ASIS International member you have access to a wide variety of training opportunities, and I encourage each of us to go online and choose the training that you deem appropriate.
In addition, you earn valuable CPE credits for qualified training. For ASIS recertification requirements, 60-minute ASIS webinars are valued at one CPE; 90 minute ASIS webinars are valued as high as two CPEs. Please note: free or informational ASIS webinars may not qualify for CPEs. If CPEs are provided, that information will be contained in the description copy of each program. Please see the Recertification Guide for more information on earning CPEs.
Have a safe, happy Holiday Season and I look forward to meeting with you at the December Holiday Celebration and Induction Ceremony (further details will be emailed soon).
Thank you for your continued dedication to our National Capital Chapter, and I look forward to speaking with you soon.
