Contract Position working with Microsoft Global Security as sub-contractor “1099”status

Position Description: Technical Program/Channel Manager
Positions Location: Reston, VA
Estimated Start Date: February 15, 2009
A major multi-national software company’s is seeking a Technical Program Manager to support the development and execution of a market-facing solution showcase and channel partner program highlighting the company’s technologies implemented in a real world environment through our Reston, VA offices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead Solution Demonstrations for existing or prospective customers at our Reston, VA office.
• Collaborate within internal Sales, Industry Solution, and Product Development teams in solution design and messaging.
• Collaborate with third-party Solution Architecture channel partners in conjunction with the Industry Solutions Groups.
• Collaborate with the Enterprise Briefing Center (EBC) Consultants to facilitate the creation of content to be presented to existing customers by Account Managers in preparation for hosted visits to the EBC.
• Modify Solution Demonstration content and/or flow to more accurately address specific customer needs or concerns as identified during pre-demonstration discussions with hosting Account Managers.
• Support the development and maintenance of a Solution Architecture Design Document outlining individual solution components, their relationship to one another, and related implementation and configuration considerations.
• Evaluate opportunities to further leverage our company’s and related third-party applications as part of overall solution design.
• Support Program resourcing, monitoring, measurements and communication processes in support of the program.
• Contribute to a virtual team comprised of multiple geographies, organizations, and disciplines.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years information technology experience to include enterprise-scale solutions architecture design and implementation
• Detailed knowledge of Microsoft enterprise technologies (e.g., Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007, Microsoft MapPoint 2006, Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, Microsoft Office Communicator 2007, Remote Desktop and Terminal Services, SQL Server 2005, 2007 Microsoft Office)
• Technical marketing and channel development experience
• Broad exposure to corporate physical security operations and related technologies
• Demonstrated capacity to both articulate high level vision and participate in detailed technical discussions
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
• Proven ability to manage project deliverables and timelines, including escalations where necessary
• Adept at identifying and managing key project dependencies to deliver on-schedule
• Strong virtual teaming skills
• Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science
