Text Box: Welcome the New Executive Committee

Fellow ASIS-NCC Members:
I would like to welcome everyone to an exciting and historic new year for our chapter! This year marks the 52nd anniversary of our chapter and is shaping up to be an exciting one. Before I go into the upcoming year and events, I want to start off by thanking Bob Battani, the 2008 Chapter Chair, for his dedication and leadership to the chapter over the past year. Through his guidance, the chapter has returned to profitability and has established a strong program that we hope to continue to build on this year. I am confident that I speak for all the 2009 officers when I say it was a pleasure to serve under Bob Battani.

I look forward to serving as the Chapter Chairman for the NCC in 2009 and excited about the plans we have for activities and educational opportunities. My goal for the Chapter in 2009 is to increase the attendance to our general meetings and special events through stronger marketing as well as schedule quality speakers and appealing topics. I also plan to take our show on the road and hold at least two general meetings outside our normal venues; for example the National Harbor.  The Website calendar (www.asis-capital.org) is starting to fill up, and I invite you to start marking your calendars with the various events we have planned, which include our Recognition Days, our partnership with GovSec, the Annual Terrorism Seminar, and the 2nd Annual Chapter Golf outing! As a reminder we need everyone to RSVP and use the Pay Pal feature on the Website. The Chapter loses money every month due to “no shows”. Please only RSVP if you really plan on attending, and if you can please pay in advance!

As a quick reminder, here is your 2009 Executive Board:
Michael Williams - Chairman
Todd Vigneault, CPP- Vice Chairman
Clayton F. Young - Secretary
James Saulnier, CPP - Treasurer
Joseph Bonacci - Sergeant at Arms

We are still looking for volunteers for positions on Chapter committees, so contact any of the Board members for more information.

Executive Board Meetings are held at Booz Allen Hamilton, 8283 Greensboro Drive, McLean, VA 22102 on the first Wednesday of every month at 6pm. Please RSVP with Michael Williams if you wish to attend. You must have a valid U.S. government photo ID to enter the building.

General Meeting times and dates are posted on the Website calendar and are usually held at the West Park Hotel in Tyson's Corner. Please watch for updates as we move into 2009, and I hope to see you at our next meeting!
