Fellow Chapter Members!
Well, for those of you who were in attendance at GovSec for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, you know we had a very well attended event, as a matter of fact too well! Unfortunately, we ran out of space and had to hustle more tables and chairs in the room. For anyone who may have had to wait to be seated, I apologize. Other than that the luncheon went very well and we were very proud to present our Law enforcement brothers with our awards and they appreciated our recognition of their fine work.
Our next function is our Scholarship Dinner back at WestPark on May 14th @ 6:00pm and then back to our luncheon for to talk Terrorism on June 18th @ 11:30am at the Gannett Headquarters in Tyson Corner. Both events promise to be very good. Please RSVP often and early!
I wanted to take a moment to recognize the fine work of Sally Malloy our Communications Chair person. She has been working very hard to get our new communications system up and running. Hopefully, you've noticed the improvements she has made. It took a lot of work moving all the information over from our old system to this one. I hope we haven't lost anyone in the transfer of e-mail addresses, but if you or someone you know have not been getting your reminders about upcoming events please contact Sally, she will make sure you are in the mail distribution list. Thank you Sally for your time and efforts.
As I indicated in my previous letter we lost Jennifer Hardwick who was handling our Newsletter to New Jersey, she's moving up there. SO, we need a Newsletter Editor ASAP! If you are interested, please contact Michael Williams, our Vice Chairman to let him know you would like to volunteer.
Another big event coming up in August (8/13 @ 11:30am at WestPark) is our Private Security Professional Appreciation Day. We need Table Sponsors, nominees and raffle prizes. And we have not identified our speaker(s) yet. If you would like to help us with this event please reach out to our Sergeant at Arms, Joseph Bonacci, he'll appreciate the support.
Summer is coming and I know all of our members have lots of events to attend, but please try to attend as many of the NCC events as possible, come network and support the chapter! Remember, we are holding a drawing for one Reid Interrogation and Interviewing Class, and the more you attend the meetings the more times your name goes into the hat to be drawn for the course!
